Problem Statement

The Bata showrooms and warehouses in Ahmedabad faced high electricity bills due to inefficient energy usage. For approximately 13 hours each day, lights in both showrooms and their warehouses remained on, resulting in significant energy wastage and increased operational costs.

Problem
Solution

Dyulabs’ Advanced Light Automation with VAYU Technology

To address this issue, Dyulabs provided an advanced light automation solution called VAYU. This solution optimizes energy consumption by automating the lighting system through relay nodes, RF technology, and motion sensors.

Infrared sensor

Key Features of VAYU:

Grouping of Lights

Multiple lights are grouped together in specific areas and connected to individual sensors. These sensors control the grouped lights and communicate with each other using Radio Frequency (RF) technology, eliminating the need for an internet connection.

Motion Detection Technology

VAYU uses both Motion Sensors and PR Sensors to detect presence and activate the lights only when needed.

  1. Motion Sensors detect movement from up to 10 feet and turn on the respective group of lights as the person moves through the area.
  2. PR Sensors offer a larger detection range of 60 feet, with high sensitivity for more comprehensive coverage.

Real-Time Monitoring & Data Analytics:

  • All sensor activity and lighting usage are tracked and sent to a gateway node, which collects, interprets, and organizes the data. This data is then relayed to Dyulabs’ dashboard and a customer dashboard, offering insights such as:
  • Which lights are currently on or off
  • Time tracking and real-time monitoring
  • Total electricity saved
  • Customization options for the sensors (e.g., adjusting the duration of light activation or bypassing specific lights)

Low Wiring Requirements & Fast Response Time:

The VAYU system reduces wiring complexity compared to traditional solutions while providing a quick response to motion detection.
